The first “International Tea Symposium, Myanmar” organized by (MTA) and University of Mandalay was successfully held at the University of Mandalay on 24th February, 2020. Thirty-four tea research papers were presented and international tea experts from Japan, Sri Lanka and many participants joined the symposium.
In addition, twelve of local tea companies displayed Myanmar tea products. U Kar Kar Co., Ltd. offered lunch while Taw Win Kanbawza Co. Ltd. served the authentic black tea to the attendance. MTA members gave Myanmar tea products as presents to a large attendance. On the eve of the “International Tea Symposium, Myanmar”, the poem and essay contest for Myanmar tea was held. The first, second and third winners were awarded on that event day.
